ABOUT THE MOHAWK DEER
EditIn 1967 during a sea storm Mohawk Deer crashed several times against the rocks while it was towed to La Spezia’s harbour to be demolished. The ship broke off in two parts: the bow sank perpendicularly to the shore, while the stern shattered in hundreds of pieces that covered the bottom between -5 and -20 m. The more interesting parts are the well kept bow together with the holds. The original ship’s 4000 tons represent a spectacular scenography especially in good visibility conditions.
