FUSHIFARU THILA is a dive site is located south of Fushifaru Island, in a channel where you can find a large plateau covered by blocks of corals, which hosts a Manta rays cleaning station during southwest monsoon.
The water entry is usually done at the western end of the site. Even when surface conditions are rough, diving there is quite easy for divers with experience at 20-30m.
Divers often go from one block to the other, in the central part of the pinnacle at around 15 meters. Mantas often swim by the blocks, and you will have more chances to spot them during the outgoing current. Try not to disturb the rays in their own space if you don't want them to leave the site.
The ascent can be done in open water. The recovery by the dhoni can be difficult during strong surface conditions. If necessary, don't hesitate to postpone the dive.
This dive site is a protected area. It is necessary to respect the rays' cleaning station in order to preserve the species' social habits.
