"Heaven and Hell" is a dive site, a thila made of three blocks between 15 meters and 30-35 meters deep, and located 300 meters south of Theefaridhoo Island in Haa Dhaalu atoll in Maldivees. Many overhangs are present on the thila, mainly on its southern part. The northern and western parts are covered with beautiful soft corals and host many species such as squirrel fish, stingrays, nudibranchs, trevallies, tunas and fusiliers.
The water entry should be done upstream in the current. As the site is around 20 meters deep, divers should perform a fast descent, especially during strong currents.
When the current is coming from the west, divers usually start the dive at the split point of the current. When the current is coming from the east, divers can start at the top reef and then drift down the walls, the south wall being more interesting. The overhangs of the two western blocks are very interesting, and you can take refuge in the small channels separating the blocks.
This site is accessible throughout the year, for divers with a good experience in strong currents, deep dives and fast descent. It hosts many fragile organisms and divers are asked to help preserve them carefully.
