Muli Corner, is a protected dive site on the Meemu Atoll in Maldives. This site made of an outer reef extending to the middle of the channel, north of Muli, and a plateau at the west of the reef. The incoming currents of the northeast monsoon bring many sharks to the reef, and during outgoing currents generated by the southwest monsoon, the plateau becomes a wide cleaning station for Manta rays.
According to the current orientation, the water entry can be done either on the outer reef southeast of the channel, or on the reef inside the channel. Divers will sometimes need to enter with no air in the BCD and spend minimal time at the surface.
According to the season, dives will be different. During incoming currents, divers will go to the north of the channel to spot sharks around the reef. You can be protected to the current if you stay below the top reef depth. During outgoing currents, it will be more interesting to watch Manta rays around the shallower plateau.
The ascent and safety stop can be performed both in open water or along the reef, where divers will be recovered by the dhoni.
This site is accessible throughout the year, and divers should have experience at 20-30m. Be careful not to disturb Manta rays or sharks, or they will leave the area.
