Another rarely seen behaviour and pretty close encounter! This short clip is the following of the link "Mother and Calf", shot in shallow waters of the Turks and Caicos where female humpback whales gather to raise their calves during the very first months of their life. As we can see on both videos, the female fasting for up to 8 months needs to save energy by resting close to the bottom. In the meantime, the calf explores the surroundings while taking short breaths, never going too far from its mother protection.
