Less renowned than “Isuela”, Carega is actually one of the most popular diving spots in the marine reserve. Divers can swim here surrounded by a huge amount of fish, in only 20 m of water. The facing south side falls down to -40 m and more, while the part toward the mount drops vertically to -15 m. Red sea fans in the deep. Hundreds of Mediterranean damselfishes, saddle breams and bogues (Boops boops) surround the upper part of the knoll, closing in compact groups when barracudas and dentex launch their attacks.
