With a sea full of diverse and spectacular marine life, including whale sharks, manta rays, hammerheads and beautiful corals, no wonder Maldives is one of the top exotic dive destinations in the world. So if you decide to explore this paradise, make sure you put yourself in the hands of the experts by booking a trip aboard the MV Adora! This luxury boat is the latest addition to the fleet of the Maldives Boat Club, which has been operating liveaboard diving safari cruises for over 20 years.
The MV Adora was custom built in 2014 and great detail was given during its design to ensure it achieved the highest standards for quietness and comfort, meaning tranquility and relaxation are guaranteed while at sea. Stylishly designed, this 37 metres yacht features a large interior and exterior living space, as it caters to a maximum of 21 guests only, accommodated in 11 cabins – all of them gorgeously decorated, with exterior windows, en-suite bathroom, TV and individually controlled AC. Divers and their non-diving travel companions can make the most out of their holidays by enjoying the view from the sunbeds located on the boat’s beautiful sundeck or by relaxing on the spacious and comfortable indoor salon with AC, where a bar can also be found.
In between dives and also having in mind those who prefer to stay at the surface, the MV Adora offers other activities, such as island hopping, snorkeling and barbecue on deserted islands. And because nutritious food is essential when you are diving every day, special attention to this was paid while designing the menu, which features a wide variety of tasty local and international dishes. Moreover, an attentive crew will look after your needs the whole time to ensure everything runs smoothly and pleasantly.
A team of three very experienced dive professionals will guide you so you get to see the very best of Maldives underwater, including the big pelagic animals this area is famous for: manta rays, hammerheads and whale sharks. Other common sights are turtles, eagle rays, black-tip sharks, nurse sharks, groupers, an array of colourful reef fish and much more!
The dive sites are approached by a supportive 20 metres Maldivian dive boat (called a “dhoni”), which makes divers’ pick up a lot more comfortable and allows for greater proximity to dive spots where coral reefs are close to the surface. Free nitrox is available onboard. Divers must be insured and a 20€ Divers Alert Network insurance is available for this trip.
Conditions are at their best between October and May, but the diving is very good all year round, as pelagics are always present. Learn more about when to dive in the Maldives.
Book your flight into Male, the country’s capital. A member of MV Adora staff will be meeting you in Male at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 10AM on the first day of the diving safari – so, if you are arriving on this same day, you should ensure your flight lands in Male well before this time. On the last day you will be disembarking in Male at 10AM.
