A sleek, stylish yacht
Moonima is an elegant vessel that was built in 2003 and renovated in 2015. The yacht was designed to prioritize comfort as opposed to stuffing as many cabins in it as possible. It is 30 meters long, featuring three decks and a sundeck with ample space and comfortable sunbeds, allowing you to rest easy while enjoying the breeze of the Indian Ocean.
Moonima’s furniture extensively uses natural wood, which is complemented by fashionable navy blue fabrics. The lounge area, restaurant, bar, and cabins have coordinated nautical-inspired details. A well-equipped tender dinghy facilitates the diving operations by transporting guests and guides to the dive sites and back to the main ship.
Fully furnished traditional cabins with wooden features
The yacht has the capacity for sixteen to eighteen guests, to be accommodated in eight comfortable, spacious cabins that all have private bathrooms and individual air conditioning. Additionally, each cabin is decorated with stunning wooden features and wooden floors. Six cabins with porthole-type windows and double or single beds occupy the lower deck. On the upper deck, two lucky guests will experience a stay in the luxurious suite, with queen bed and large panoramic windows to admire the Maldivian sunsets.
Ethnically influenced cuisine and great drinks assortment
The gastronomy onboard Moonima blends international dishes with traditional and exotic influences from India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. Guests will be served three main meals a day with tasty recipes suitable for everyone, including - upon request - a variety of options to satisfy special diets. Freshly cut fruit and desserts will also be provided after the dives.
To complement the excellent food, Moonima offers a wide selection of drinks served by the restaurant and the onboard bar located on the main deck. Tea, coffee, and water are always available and included in the package. Fruit juice, beer, wines, spirits, and cocktails are available for purchase.
Laid-back lifestyle and open-air activities
Moonima offers a comfortable, elegant environment where you can enjoy the laid-back vibe of a Maldivian cruise. The spacious exterior decks feature shaded rest areas with chairs and tables, as well as several sunbeds placed strategically to top up your tan while enjoying a breathtaking view over the atolls. The boat’s lounge area is equipped with sofas, tables with chairs, and a flatscreen TV; it’s the perfect place to attend a mini-class on the reefs of the Maldives or your next specialty diving course.
Moonima’s guests can also take part in several different activities, such as barbecues on pristine Maldivian islands, snorkeling activities, or you can stay on board and connect to the complimentary 4G Wi-Fi while sipping a cocktail and updating the logbook with the sightings of the day.
Diving with the Moonima
The Maldives: A diver’s dream
The Maldives is a stunning, unique dive destination. It’s a vast stretch of the Indian Ocean colored with every possible shade of blue, where the highest elevation above sea level highlights the emerald vegetation of the tiny atolls. It is also an incredible underwater environment with massive coral reefs, populated with thousands of different species. Here, jaw-dropping encounters with mantas, sharks, and cetaceans are the daily standard.
Nitrox-powered, advanced recreational diving
The Maldivian reefs boast an explosion of marine life and moderate to strong currents. Moonima’s divers are required to have a minimum level of training corresponding to CMAS 2nd star or PADI Advanced Diver, and a minimum of 50 logged dives, so sign up for your next diving course now and build up some experience if you don’t have it yet!
Moonima’s guests will benefit from Nitrox-powered diving throughout the cruise. Breathing Nitrox allows divers to spend more time at a specific depth compared to compressed air, and it is widely recognized as the safer option for repeated diving over consecutive days. Even better, Moonima offers Nitrox diving without an additional cost.
Six, nine, or thirteen unforgettable days
Set sail around the Maldivian atolls for six, nine, or thirteen days of action-packed diving. The six-day package includes sixteen dive sites as well as a night dive; the ten-day package includes 23 dives sites and a night dive; and, finally, the thirteen-day package includes 32 dive sites and a night dive. That's a lot of scuba diving! But if you want more, Moonima also offers scuba diving courses and extra dives for a supplemental fee.
