If you are into exploring the Maldives aboard a spacious dive boat built according to the local traditional style that yet offers comfort and modern standards at the same time, the Nautilus Two liveaboard is what you are looking for!
This charming dive vessel is made entirely of wood according to the Maldivian traditional style and is one of the most spacious boats operating in the archipelago, as it is 43 meters long and caters to a maximum of 24 divers. And one of the main things that set it apart from other operators are the ultra-spacious cabins averaging 20m2, with two of them reaching 25 m2! All 12 cabins have ample storage room, large private toilets with massage showers, individually controlled AC and large deck and side hatches that allow for natural lighting and ample ventilation. They all feature a king size bed plus a single bed, although a maximum of two guests per cabin is allowed, to ensure everybody has plenty of space available. All the cabins are located on the lower deck, except for one, that is on the main deck.
On the main deck is where you will also find most of the social areas. Indoors, a beautiful saloon features comfortable sofas, a TV and audio system and a fully licensed bar offering a wide selection of drinks, including wine, cocktails and even beer on tap. A coffee shop serves coffee, tea, freshly squeezed fruit juices and sandwiches all day long. This lounge is separated from the dining area by a traditional 5 meters Maldivian “dhoni” boat which doubles as a table where the all buffet meals are served. The Nautilus Two chef prepares fresh dishes every day and the menu includes local, Asian and European options.
On this deck you will also find two outdoor areas ideal to relax after or in between dives: the front of the boat offers comfortable chairs in the shade, as well as an amazing hot tub from which you will want to enjoy the stunning views while catching the light breeze with a drink in your hand; on the rear end, a covered sitting area with a lowered platform is the ideal entry and exit point for swims in the beautiful Maldivian lagoons and is also the perfect fishing spot for the enthusiasts of this activity.
If you are a sun lover, the sun deck is where you will want to spend time catching those sun rays and is also the best vantage point from which to enjoy the mesmerizing Maldivian sunsets.
And because the Nautilus Two caters for both divers and non-divers, there are many other activities available onboard apart from diving that make it the ideal option for any holidaymaker, such as snorkeling and kitesurfing on the gorgeous Maldivian lagoons or catching your own dinner – that the kitchen staff will be very happy to prepare – using traditional fishing techniques.
The Maldivian waters are amongst the most amazing and pristine in the world and the Nautilus Two’s experienced dive staff will guide you through its best dive sites, conducting detailed explorations that will allow you to fully experience its richness. Manta rays, several shark species, turtles and huge schools of reef dwellers are regular sights and the dive guides will also go out of their way to ensure you get to enjoy some fascinating macro life.
All diving activities are conducted from the 23 meters Maldivian dive tender – the Dheriyaa - which allows for more precise and comfortable approaches to the dive sites. This is also where dive gear is kept, with guests getting their own individual storage space, and where the compressors are located, meaning that the main boat is free of tank filling noise at all times. Nitrox is available for those holding a Nitrox certification.
Conditions are at their best between October and May, but the diving is very good all year round, as pelagics are always present. Learn more about when to dive in the Maldives.
